Safety

UniCamp is delighted that you are considering having your child participate in our camp this summer. We understand that there are always uncertainties about sending away your loved ones for an extended stay in our natural surroundings at camp. Please be assured that UniCamp places your child’s safety as our top priority.

Reasons to feel safe about your child’s stay at camp:

  • 75 years of experience and tradition

  • 3 to 1 staff to camper ratio

  • ACA (American Camp Association) Accreditation

  • All of our counselors are current UCLA Student Volunteers (or in some cases former campers) that meet these standards by the time camp starts:
  • Raised $375 to help send children to camp
  • Completed over 100 hours of training based on ACA’s counselor guidelines
  • Passed state and national background checks
  • In addition to Volunteer Staff, a paid staff consisting of a Registered Nurse, Serve Safe certified Kitchen Manager, Camp Director with over 35 years of experience and more fully certified and fully trained support staff will be at camp during your child’s stay at camp.

UniCamp offers a fully supervised environment that offers proper supervision to ensure your child’s safety but gives enough freedom so they can still enjoy their time at camp. If you have any further questions or concern about camp safety please shoot us an email or call our office and we’ll be happy to answer any further questions.
