Alumni Profiles

Over the years UniCamp has served thousands of student volunteers and tens of thousands of campers. Each person that does UniCamp has a unique journey and a unique experience. We have been lucky to follow the journey of some of the people that have come through our doors and we’d like to share their experiences with you.

Raymond Cardenas

“The Raymond Cardenas Story”

Raymond was among these earliest of campers, and therefore one of our earliest and most astounding success stories. As he sits in our offices today in 2006, we remain in awe of his successes, his humility, his sense of humor and his family. To meet him is to understand keenly why we were so compelled to tell his story.

"The Josie Jo Cabigilio Story”

UCLA UniCamp has been changing the lives of children, students and the community for more than seventy years now and the stories of those it has affected are too numerous to count. There are those stories however that represent what UCLA UniCamp is all about so well. There are those stories that can shed a small light on the huge mission that UniCamp strives to accomplish.

“The Ja Nai Pinecone Story”

JaNai’ “Pinecone” Humphrey is what we call a UniCamp All-Star. She’s an all-star in many ways. She not only went to camp for 10 years as a child, but she also volunteered when she got into college, and went on to be a shining example of what it is to be a camper….and student volunteer, for UCLA UniCamp.

Ferne Rainbow Miller Story

On July 12, 2003 UCLA UniCamp unveiled the Ferne “Rainbow” Miller Arts & Crafts Center . Ferne Miller was an active student volunteer for UniCamp in the 1980's. Her family set up a memorial fund in her name to go towards a new Arts & Crafts center once we obtained a permanent site.
