Student Fundraising

“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.” – Winston Churchill

Although UCLA UniCamp is the Official Charity of the Students of UCLA, UniCamp receives no funding from the University itself. UniCamp has been able to survive off generous contributions from long time supporters and from the hard work and dedication of the student volunteers. The annual operating budget of camp exceeds $750,000 and every year staff and volunteers go out and find the money to keep camp running. The average cost of sending a child to camp is $550 but we only charge a “fair share” fee of $75 to each camper. The ability to offer these scholarships is greatly in part to the annual fundraising efforts of our student volunteers. Each volunteer is asked to raise at least $375 and in the past couple years the students have answered the call raising nearly $140,000 annually. Student fundraising is an important part of being involved with UniCamp. Without the money student help raise annually our program would not exist.
