Volunteer Training

“In Every Community there is work to be done. In every nation there are wounds to heal. In every heart there is the power to do it.”  - Marianne Williamson

Once you have been selected as a student volunteer you will be required to undergo 100 hours of training during Spring Quarter. This training will entail:

  • Weekly two hour training meetings during Spring Quarter
  • A session retreat during one of the earlier weekends of Spring Quarter
  • On-Site Orientation at our campsite the week after school lets out for the summer
  • Leadership training expanded from ACA’s Basic Camp Director Course
  • ACA’s “Camp is for the Camper” on-line course and supplemental trainings based off the on-line course
  • UniCamp Songs, Games and other Traditions
  • In addition to training you will be asked to:
  • Raise $375 to help send a kid to camp
  • Take a TB test before you attend camp
  • Pass a state and federal background check

It may seem like there are a lot of components to volunteer training but most people that go through our program will attest that going through the training is worth the time. The more time you put into camp the more you will get out of it. Aside from the technical skills that you will learn through training, training is also a chance for you to get to know the other people in your session and build bonds fellow volunteers.

Why do I have to raise so much money???
