“If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else” – Booker T. Washington

UCLA UniCamp prides itself on the quality of its volunteers, and our excellence in training and programmatic delivery has not gone unnoticed. UCLA UniCamp is distinguished by being Southern California's leader in University-based camping. In 1998 UCLA UniCamp was given by the American Camp Association a prestigious Pioneers of Camping award and was also recognized in 2007 with the Eleanor Ellis Award for Excellence in programming.
UCLA UniCamp recruits student volunteers in the Winter Quarter for the following summer. Each year, 400 UCLA students embark on a rigorous 100 hour training program spanning four months to prepare for camp, generally requiring a commitment of three hours a week during spring quarter and one full week of camp during the summer. Training and camp schedules vary by session, and there are usually 7 sessions per summer from which to choose. With the large number of volunteer spots available, we will make every effort to match volunteers with UniCamp sessions that fit their schedules.
